In this section I’ll explain all about the free concerts at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix™
In recent years a handful of Grand Prix™ promoters have added extra value to the price of your race ticket by including complimentary concerts in the evening. Abu Dhabi was one of the first to introduce this initiative and past acts have included Lionel Richie, Rihanna, The Who, Kylie and Pharrell Williams.
The concerts in Abu Dhabi take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings with local artists often taking to the stage on Thursday as well.
If you’d like to take advantage to the free concerts you’ll need to have a valid ticket for the Yas Marina circuit on the day of the concert. So, a ticket for the North, South, West, Marina or Main Grandstand will all grant you access. Tickets for hospitality venues like the Yas Viceroy Terrace should also be valid but check with the organisers at the time of booking.
Concerts take place at the arena located under the unmistakable red canopy roof of Ferrari World. The arena is outdoor with grass underfoot and standing only so don’t expect the indoor arenas we are used to in the UK. This is much more like an outdoor festival.
Remember, you must obtain a wristband to gain access to the concert venue. Wristbands are available inside the circuit from kiosks usually found near the food and merchandise outlets. A new wristband must be collected each day.
Paddock Club™ guest have access to a premium viewing location called the Golden Circle with access via a fast track lane. In previous years a wristband has not been required for Paddock Club™ guests but check with the Paddock Club™ staff for the latest information.
The easiest way to reach the arena is on foot. Just head towards Ferrari World which is directly behind the North Grandstand. If you look at an aerial photo of Yas Marina Circuit you’ll see just how close the two are. The arena is where the red canopy roof of Ferrari World is cut away just below the bottom tip of the Ferrari badge.
