Airport transfers
Scheduled flights arrive in to Barcelona El Prat International Airport which is located just 25 minutes from central Barcelona. Pre booking a transfer in advance is a safe and convenient way to get from the airport to your hotel.
Advantages to pre booking a transfer include knowing that your driver will be waiting for on arrival eliminating the chance of having to queue for a taxi or find alternative transportation on arrival, payment is made in your local currency at the time of booking so there is no need to worry about taxi fares or having enough cash to pay for the journey and your driver will know your destination in advance.

Getting to and from the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya
Driving
The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is easily accessible from the highway and car parks are located directly behind many of the grandstands. Parking permits can be purchased with your grandstand ticket.
Chauffeur driven vehicles can also be pre booked for transfer to and from the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya but expect to be charged a minimum daily rate rather than an hourly rate.
Booking an inclusive trip like the ones offered by Altitude Luxury Travel will take away the stress of using public transport as chauffeur driven transfer to and from the circuit are included as standard.
Trains
Getting to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya by train is relatively straight forward but expect crowded trains, long queues and you’ll still have to do some walking too.
The Renfe suburban R2 (dark green on suburban train map) train bound for MaÇanet-Massanes departs from Barcelona upto four times an hour on weekdays and twice an hour on weekends. You can catch the train from either Barcelona Sants (30 minutes travel time), Passeig de Gràcia (25 minutes travel time) or El Clot Arago (20 minutes travel time) rail stations in Barcelona centre. Booking a hotel close to one of these stations is advisable to avoid any additional journeys on the subway.
You’ll need to get off the train at Montmelo station which is the closest station to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The walk from the station to the circuit can take around forty-five minutes (longer is you’re seated in the North or East sections of the circuit) and some parts of the walk are uphill. Montmelo station is only small and queues for trains heading back into Barcelona should be expected. Many fans will stop for a beer or two at one of the small bars in Montmelo to avoid the worst of the queues.
Train tickets can be purchased from any of the rail stations mentioned above.

Bus
During the Grand Prix weekend local bus company Sagalés operate a regular service between central Barcelona and the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. This is pretty much a door to door service taking you close to the circuit entrance but pick-up and drop-off locations have varied over the years so check the Sagalés website for the most upto date information. The bus fares are cheap and there is a choice of departure times to and from the circuit, but expect queues and crowded busses.
