The Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona is one of the more popular Grand Prix on the F1 calendar and forward planning is definitely an advantage.
The Spanish Grand Prix regular slot on the calendar is in mid May but the following years Grand Prix dates may not be confirmed until as late as November or December leaving only a five to six month window between the dates being confirmed and the Grand Prix taking place.
Typically the Spanish Grand Prix falls two weeks before the Monaco Grand Prix which historically takes place over the final weekend in May, but this should never be taken for granted and making any travel arrangements that can’t be cancelled or amended with minimal financial penalties is still a risk.
Despite this many Grand Prix fans will book flights and accommodation up to eleven months in advance which is generally when flights go on sale for the following year.
In previous years the Spanish Grand Prix organisers have incentivised spectators to rebook for the following years Grand Prix immediately after the current years Grand Prix with some Super Early Bird prices.
If you miss this initial booking period you won’t have to wait long before the next batch of tickets go on sale.
Of cause, if the Grand Prix date is already confirmed by the time you start planning your trip you should book flights, hotels and race tickets as soon as possible to avoid prices increasing or missing out on your preferred choices.
