Getting around during the Mexican Grand Prix™
In this guide you’ll learn about the different options to help you get around during the Mexican Grand Prix™.
There is no car parking at the circuit for grandstand ticket holders. The most convenient way to get around during the race weekend is by using public transport, particularly the extensive Mexico City metro. From the city center, take Metro Línea 9 (the dark brown line) heading towards Pantitlán. There are three stations along this route, each approximately a 15-minute walk from the circuit, depending on your seating location:
• Velódromo - for Foro Sol Grandstands.
• Ciudad Deportiva - for the Main Grandstand.
• Puebla - for Grandstands 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10 & 11.
Metro Línea 9 also stops in the Condesa neighborhood (Chilpancingo station), so staying at a hotel in Condesa can really make your journey to and from the circuit quick and easy.
All metro fares cost around 5 pesos, and tickets can be purchased at the ticket booth inside each metro station or through a smart card.
Since the metro can become crowded, especially on race day, it can be a good idea to arrive at the circuit early to avoid larger crowds.
Another option is to take one of the red and white Metrobús routes. Metrobus Línea 2 (the purple line) is the nearest bus route to the circuit, with UPIICSA and El Rodeo being the closest stops. From there, it's a short walk to Gates 13 and 14.
You also have the option of taking a taxi or rideshare service (Uber is a widely used) to get to the circuit, but keep in mind that Mexico City’s Mexico City's infamous traffic becomes even more challenging during the race weekend. To reduce waiting times, it's a good idea to plan taxi transfers in advance, and your hotel's reception or concierge can be a valuable resource to help you book a taxi through a reliable company.
