Getting around during the Canadian Grand Prix™
In this guide you’ll learn about the different options to help you get around during the Canadian Grand Prix™.
Situated in the heart of the Saint Lawrence River, Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Parc Jean-Drapeau on Notre Dame Island is connected to Montreal by two bridges and the Montreal subway.
When it comes to reaching the circuit, the subway is the most popular option for most fans. The Jean-Drapeau subway station, a part of the yellow line that spans the Saint Lawrence River, connects the Parc to the entire Montreal public transit system. Various tickets, including an unlimited weekend option, are available for purchase at metro stations.
From Jean Drapeau metro station, it takes around 15-30 minutes to reach the track, depending on where you're sitting. The closest grandstands to the metro station are the hairpin grandstands.
Uber is widely used in Canada, and Montreal is no exception. Alternatively, taxis can drop you off directly at the circuit.
A river shuttle operates between Montreal's Vieux-Port area and the island. During Grand Prix weekend, services run approximately every 30 minutes.
There is no parking for spectators so arriving by car is not recommended.
