Plan your Miami Grand Prix trip

The Miami Grand Prix is held at the Miami International Autodrome, a street-style circuit built around the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. The race weekend has a strong entertainment programme alongside the racing, with live music and DJ sets running throughout. Miami in May is warm, which makes it a comfortable race to attend. The city has a distinct character, with a strong food scene, beaches and a well-known nightlife. It works well as a destination beyond the race weekend.

Where is the Miami Grand Prix held?

The Miami Grand Prix takes place at the Miami International Autodrome, a temporary circuit built around the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. The circuit is around 25 km north of central Miami.

Why go to the Miami Grand Prix?

The Miami Grand Prix is one of the newest and most spectacle-driven races on the Formula 1 calendar. The 5.4 km lap runs around the Hard Rock Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins, with a marina-themed section featuring fake water and yachts on dry land. The event has become one of the highest-profile race weekends of the season, with celebrities, music, and entertainment integrated into the on-track programme.

What to expect over three days

Plan for three full days, Friday to Sunday, to see every Formula 1 session and the support races. Friday is practice. Saturday is final practice and qualifying. Sunday is the Grand Prix.

What makes the Miami Grand Prix special?

The combination of Formula 1, Miami, and the off-circuit programme. The race weekend has a stronger entertainment focus than most other Grand Prix, with concerts, fan zones, and celebrity appearances built into the schedule. Off the circuit, Miami offers South Beach, the Art Deco district, and one of the strongest food and bar scenes in the country, all easily reachable from the venue by Brightline rail.
