Grandstand recommendations
The Baku City Circuit has a bit of everything. Flat-out straights, tight corners, and some of the narrowest sections on the Formula One calendar.
Main Grandstand
The Main Grandstand is located along the start and finish straight. You will see the cars at high speed as they head from the final corner to Turn 1. You will also have views of the pit lane, the starting grid, and the team garages.
Absheron Grandstand
Located at the end of the main straight, this is where you will see the start, the finish, and all the pre-race activity. You have a direct view of the team garages and pit lane, so you can watch the engineers at work before lights out. Section E is closest to Turn 1, the circuit’s biggest braking zone.
Icheri Sheher Grandstand
Set against Baku’s ancient city walls, this section covers the most technical part of the circuit. At one point the track is only 7.6 metres wide. Drivers have to be precise. There is very little margin for error.
AzNeft Grandstand
This grandstand faces a fast, sweeping left-hander where the cars dive downhill before accelerating onto one of the circuit’s long straights. You get a head-on view of the cars as they brake hard and power away.
Filarmoniya Grandstand
Located near Philharmonic Square, this grandstand gives you a view of the final part of the downhill section and the heavy braking into Turn 16. It is a key overtaking spot before the cars sweep through the square.
Mugham Grandstand
Situated in front of the Puppet Theatre on the Boulevard, this grandstand offers a double view of the action. In front of you, cars charge flat out toward the start and finish line. On the opposite side of the track, other cars head in the opposite direction toward Turn 7 before entering the historic part of the city.
