Where is the British Grand Prix held?
The British Grand Prix takes place at Silverstone Circuit, in Northamptonshire, central England. The circuit is around 100 km northwest of London and around 65 km southeast of Birmingham.
Why go to the British Grand Prix?
Silverstone hosted the very first Formula 1 World Championship race in 1950 and remains one of the most significant circuits on the calendar. The layout is fast and flowing, with the high-speed sequence through Maggotts, Becketts and Chapel widely regarded as one of the most demanding sections in the sport. The British Grand Prix draws crowds of over 400,000 across the weekend, making it one of the best-attended races of the season.
What to expect over three days
Plan for three full days, Friday to Sunday, to see every Formula 1 session and the support races. Friday is practice. Saturday is final practice and qualifying. Sunday is the Grand Prix.
