Where is the Singapore Grand Prix held?
The Singapore Grand Prix takes place on the Marina Bay Street Circuit, a street circuit that runs through central Singapore around the Marina Bay waterfront.
Why go to the Singapore Grand Prix?
The Singapore Grand Prix was the first night race in Formula 1 history, running under floodlights since its debut in 2008. The Marina Bay Street Circuit runs through the heart of the city, past the Singapore Flyer, the Padang, and the Marina Bay Sands, with the city skyline lit up around the track. It's one of the most physically demanding races on the calendar, with cockpit temperatures reaching around 60°C in roughly 80% humidity, and a race that often runs close to the two-hour limit.
What to expect over three days
Plan for three full days, Friday to Sunday, to see every Formula 1 session and the support races. Friday is practice. Saturday is final practice and qualifying. Sunday is the Grand Prix.
What makes the Singapore Grand Prix special?
The night race format, the city setting, and the evening concerts. The race begins after sunset and finishes in full darkness, with the cars running through illuminated streets in one of Asia's great cities. The race weekend includes evening concerts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with major international and Singaporean artists performing on stages built into the circuit. Singapore itself pairs well with race weekend: a compact city with one of the strongest food scenes in the world, and direct flights from across Asia, Australia, Europe, and the Middle East.
