Estimated Reading Time: 3-4 minutes
Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is on Notre Dame Island in the Saint Lawrence River, in Parc Jean-Drapeau. It’s connected to Montréal by two bridges and the Metro.
Metro
The Metro is the most popular option for most fans. From downtown, take the Metro to Berri-UQAM, then change onto the yellow line for the short ride to Jean-Drapeau station. The yellow line crosses the Saint Lawrence River and connects the park to the wider Montréal transit system.
Tickets, including an unlimited weekend option, are available at any Metro station.
From Jean-Drapeau station, it takes 15 to 20 minutes on foot to reach the hairpin grandstands, and around 45 minutes to reach the Main Grandstand or Turn 1, since you walk the full length of the circuit. The closer your grandstand is to the Metro station, the shorter the walk.
Uber and taxi
Uber operates throughout Montréal. Taxis can also drop you off at the circuit directly.
River shuttle
A river shuttle runs between Montréal’s Vieux-Port area and Notre Dame Island. During race weekend, services run approximately every 30 minutes.
Driving
Some parking is available at the circuit, but it’s limited and not included with all tickets. Most fans don’t drive. The Metro is the simpler option.

I keep going back to these travel companies because they’re reliable, easy to use, and usually have the best value. They’re where I start every time I plan a trip.
Tickets
Motorsport Tickets and Grand Prix Tickets are the two agencies I’ve trusted for years. They’ve always been reliable, easy to deal with, and quick to help if something comes up.
Hotels
ZenHotels is one of my go-to sites for hotel bookings. It pulls prices from loads of smaller sites you might not know about, so it’s great for finding deals. I also check Expedia and Booking.com when I want more options.
Excursions
Viator is packed with walking tours, attraction tickets, and local experiences. It’s especially handy if you’re heading to a new Grand Prix city. It’s a great place to find extras to add to your trip.
