Estimated Reading Time: 4-5v minutes
Most fans reach Monza by train from Milan. The journey from Milan Central to Monza station takes around 30 minutes, with shuttle buses running from Monza station to the circuit during race weekend. Combined train-and-shuttle tickets can be bought at the station.
Train and shuttle bus
Direct trains run from Milan Central to Monza station, with frequent services through race weekend. From Monza station, dedicated shuttle buses run to the circuit. This is the most popular way fans reach the track.
Regional trains also run to Monza from nearby cities, including Bergamo and Como, for fans staying outside Milan.
Buses to the circuit
Local buses operate from Corso Milano in Monza (near Monza station) to the circuit. They serve two of the main entrances:
- Vedano (Porta Vedano) — Autodromo Entrance A
- Biassono (Porta S. Maria delle Selve) — Autodromo Entrance B
Shuttle buses also operate from a number of towns and cities across Italy.
Taxi and private transfer
Taxis can be booked by phone, via the appTaxi app, or through your hotel front desk. Most Milan hotels can help arrange a taxi through a reputable company. Private chauffeur-driven transfers can also be pre-booked.
Worth knowing that the circuit sits inside a walled park, so taxis and private transfers can only get you so close. There’ll still be some walking from the drop-off point to the circuit entrance.
Driving
Driving to Monza is possible, but worth knowing the circuit is in a national park, so there’s no parking directly at the circuit. Several car parks operate around the edges of the park and at various locations in Monza town. From these, you’ll either walk or take a shuttle to the circuit entrance.
If you’re driving from central Milan, remember the city has a restricted traffic zone (Area C), and you’ll likely want to leave the car parked outside the centre and use the train.
After the race
Expect queues leaving the circuit at the end of the day. The walk back to Monza station and the queue for trains back to Milan can be slow, particularly on Sunday after the Grand Prix.

I keep going back to these travel companies because they’re reliable, easy to use, and usually have the best value. They’re where I start every time I plan a trip.
Tickets
Motorsport Tickets and Grand Prix Tickets are the two agencies I’ve trusted for years. They’ve always been reliable, easy to deal with, and quick to help if something comes up.
Hotels
ZenHotels is one of my go-to sites for hotel bookings. It pulls prices from loads of smaller sites you might not know about, so it’s great for finding deals. I also check Expedia and Booking.com when I want more options.
Excursions
Viator is packed with walking tours, attraction tickets, and local experiences. It’s especially handy if you’re heading to a new Grand Prix city. It’s a great place to find extras to add to your trip.
