Getting there by air
Monaco doesn’t have its own airport, and most visiting Grand Prix fans base themselves in Nice rather than Monaco itself. The closest airport is Nice Côte d’Azur Airport (NCE), about 7 km west of central Nice.
Direct flights to Nice are common from most European hubs, and from a number of regional airports too. Both national carriers and low-cost airlines operate the routes.
If your city doesn’t have a direct flight to Nice, the most common connections are through Paris, London, or Frankfurt.
Flying out a few days before the Grand Prix, or staying on after, often brings airfares down. The savings can help cover the extra nights of accommodation.
Getting there by train
The TGV from Paris to Nice takes about six hours.
From the airport to Nice
Nice Airport is just outside the city. Options include:
Taxi. Available directly from the airport. The journey to central Nice is short, with fares set by the city.
Pre-booked transfer. Worth considering if you’d rather skip the taxi queue or want a fixed price agreed in advance.
Tram. Tram line 2 runs from the airport into central Nice, with stops near the seafront and the main shopping streets.
From the airport to Monaco
If you’re staying in Monaco, you can travel direct from the airport.
Helicopter. A helicopter transfer from Nice Airport to Monaco takes about seven minutes.
Taxi or pre-booked transfer. The road journey takes around 40 minutes.
Visa and entry requirements
Many visitors don’t need a visa to enter France or Monaco, but requirements depend on your nationality and personal circumstances.
For visa-exempt nationals, ETIAS travel authorisation is an entry requirement when visiting France, Monaco, and other European destinations.
Check the official guidance before booking.

I keep going back to these travel companies because they’re reliable, easy to use, and usually have the best value. They’re where I start every time I plan a trip.
Tickets
Motorsport Tickets and Grand Prix Tickets are the two agencies I’ve trusted for years. They’ve always been reliable, easy to deal with, and quick to help if something comes up.
Hotels
ZenHotels is one of my go-to sites for hotel bookings. It pulls prices from loads of smaller sites you might not know about, so it’s great for finding deals. I also check Expedia and Booking.com when I want more options.
Excursions
Viator is packed with walking tours, attraction tickets, and local experiences. It’s especially handy if you’re heading to a new Grand Prix city. It’s a great place to find extras to add to your trip.

Consider an indirect flight
Direct flights to Nice are convenient, but a one-stop routing through another European hub can sometimes be significantly cheaper, especially over race weekend.
