Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes
The Miami International Autodrome has grandstands clustered around the most action-packed sections. Most overtaking happens at Turn 1, at the end of the start-finish straight, and at Turns 17 and 18, the heavy braking zone before the final corner.
The upper sections of the grandstands are covered. The lower sections are uncovered. Heat and humidity in May can be intense, and most afternoons sit in the high 20s or low 30s Celsius, so shade matters here.
Main Grandstand (start-finish straight)
The Main Grandstand runs along the start-finish straight, opposite the pit lane and team garages. From here you see the grid build-up, the start, the cars accelerating away from the line, the pit lane in action through the race, and the chequered flag.
Turn 1 Grandstand
The Turn 1 Grandstand sits at the heaviest braking zone on the lap. Cars come down the start-finish straight at top speed and brake hard for the corner. The opening lap is at its most dramatic from here, and the run from Turn 1 through Turns 2 and 3 often produces close racing through the rest of the race.
Marina Grandstands
The Marina Grandstands cover Turns 6 and 7, where cars work through a technical section before accelerating onto the long South straight. A good spot for watching drivers thread together a tight sequence of corners.

Beach Grandstand
The Beach Grandstand sits at Turns 11 and 12. Turn 11 is a tight hairpin and the slowest corner on the lap, so cars brake hard, slow right down, and accelerate back out through Turn 12. A good spot for watching cars work through a low-speed section.
Turn 18 Grandstand
The Turn 18 Grandstand sits at the exit of the second-fastest straight on the circuit. Turns 17 and 18 are one of the better wheel-to-wheel racing spots on the lap, with cars under heavy braking after the long run from the chicane at Turns 14 and 15.
General Admission
Miami calls its General Admission ticket the Campus Ticket. It gives you access to standing and grass viewing areas around the circuit, with a free shuttle between zones. It’s the lowest-priced ticket and a workable option for fans who don’t mind being on their feet and want flexibility to move around the circuit through the weekend.

Motorsport Tickets and Grand Prix Tickets are the two agencies I’ve trusted for years. They’ve always been reliable, easy to deal with, and quick to help if something comes up.
Hotels
ZenHotels is one of my go-to sites for hotel bookings. It pulls prices from loads of smaller sites you might not know about, so it’s great for finding deals. I also check Expedia and Booking.com when I want more options.
Excursions
Viator is packed with walking tours, attraction tickets, and local experiences. It’s especially handy if you’re heading to a new Grand Prix city. It’s a great place to find extras to add to your trip.

Hot and humid. The race takes place in May, when temperatures in south Florida regularly sit in the high 20s or low 30s Celsius and humidity is high. Pack light clothing, sun protection, and water.
It's Miami's General Admission ticket. It gives you access to standing and grass viewing areas around the circuit at the lowest ticket price.
Money-saving tip
Look at the Campus Ticket if you’re on a budget
The Campus Ticket is Miami’s General Admission option and the cheapest way in. You’ll be on your feet and won’t have a fixed seat, but for fans on a budget who want to be at the race, it’s a workable choice.
