Getting there by air
All international flights into Singapore land at Singapore Changi Airport (SIN), about 20 minutes from Marina Bay. Changi is consistently rated one of the best-connected airports in the world.
Direct flights to Singapore are common from most major hubs in Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and Asia. Singapore Airlines, the national carrier, runs an extensive network of long-haul direct services. Most national carriers also fly direct.
From the UK and Europe, direct flights run from London, Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam, Zurich, and other major hubs. From North America, direct services run from a handful of US cities. From Australia and New Zealand, direct flights are available from most major cities.
If your city doesn’t have a direct flight to Singapore, indirect routings are usually straightforward and can save money. Connecting through Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Dubai, or Abu Dhabi is common, and any of these can be a destination in their own right if you want to break the journey.
From the airport to Marina Bay
The journey from Changi Airport to Marina Bay takes around 20 minutes by road.
Taxi. Available from the official taxi rank at the airport. Reliable and one of the more comfortable options after a long flight.
Pre-booked transfer. Worth considering if you’d rather skip the queue or want a fixed price agreed in advance.
MRT. Singapore’s subway runs from Changi Airport to the city centre. Cheap and efficient.
Visa and entry requirements
Most visitors don’t need a visa to enter Singapore for short stays, but requirements depend on your nationality and personal circumstances.
All visitors must complete an electronic SG Arrival Card in the three days before arrival in Singapore. The form is submitted online via the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA).
Check the official guidance from the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) Singapore before booking.

I keep going back to these travel companies because they’re reliable, easy to use, and usually have the best value. They’re where I start every time I plan a trip.
Tickets
Motorsport Tickets and Grand Prix Tickets are the two agencies I’ve trusted for years. They’ve always been reliable, easy to deal with, and quick to help if something comes up.
Hotels
ZenHotels is one of my go-to sites for hotel bookings. It pulls prices from loads of smaller sites you might not know about, so it’s great for finding deals. I also check Expedia and Booking.com when I want more options.
Excursions
Viator is packed with walking tours, attraction tickets, and local experiences. It’s especially handy if you’re heading to a new Grand Prix city. It’s a great place to find extras to add to your trip.

Money-saving tip
Compare direct and indirect flights
Direct flights to Singapore are convenient, but a one-stop routing through a regional hub can sometimes be significantly cheaper. Connecting through Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Dubai, or Abu Dhabi is common, and you can often turn the connection into a stopover for a few days at little or no extra cost.
