The Austrian Grand Prix takes place at the Red Bull Ring, in Spielberg, in the Styria region of Austria. The circuit lies in the countryside, surrounded by the Styrian Alps.
The Red Bull Ring is one of the shortest tracks on the Formula 1 calendar. It has 10 corners, fewer than any other circuit on the calendar. The lap includes notable elevation changes, blind crests, and several heavy braking zones, with most of the overtaking happening between Turns 1, 3, and 4.
The grandstands at the Red Bull Ring are uncovered, except for the Main Grandstand. The race takes place in late June or early July, when the weather in the Styrian Alps can be warm and sunny, or cool and wet. Pack for both.
The Formula 1 sessions run alongside support races such as Formula 2, Formula 3, and the Porsche Supercup. The full schedule is published on F1.com about four weeks before the race.
How many days should you spend at the Austrian Grand Prix?
Plan for three full days, Friday to Sunday, to see every Formula 1 session and the support race.
