Where is the Turkish Grand Prix held?
The Turkish Grand Prix takes place at Istanbul Park, in the Tuzla district on the Asian side of Istanbul, around 50 km southeast of the city centre and a few kilometres from Sabiha Gökçen Airport.
Why go to the Turkish Grand Prix?
Istanbul Park is one of the most technically demanding circuits on the Formula 1 calendar, with Turn 8 a long, high-speed left-hander with multiple apex points that drivers spend more than eight seconds navigating. The circuit runs anti-clockwise across 5.34 km with significant elevation changes, and the city it returns to is one of the great cities of the world.
What to expect over three days
Plan for three full days, Friday to Sunday, to see every Formula 1 session and the support races. Friday is practice. Saturday is final practice and qualifying. Sunday is the Grand Prix.
What makes the Turkish Grand Prix special?
The circuit, Turn 8 in particular, and Istanbul itself. Istanbul Park runs anti-clockwise with serious elevation changes and a corner in Turn 8 that drivers and designers have described as one of the best on any circuit in the world. Istanbul is the only major city to span two continents, with the Bosphorus Strait running between the European and Asian sides, and it pairs well with a race weekend in a way few host cities can match.
