Plan your Spanish Grand Prix trip

The Spanish Grand Prix is held at the Madring circuit at IFEMA on the northeastern edge of Madrid. The circuit is built around La Monumental, a banked corner stretching over 500 metres with a 24% incline, the longest of its kind on the Formula 1 calendar. Madrid is one of Europe's most visited cities, with a strong food and culture scene, and the circuit is a short Metro ride from the centre.

Where is the Spanish Grand Prix held?

The Spanish Grand Prix takes place at Madring on the northeastern edge of Madrid, around 12 km from the city centre and right next to Madrid-Barajas Airport.

Why go to the Spanish Grand Prix?

Madring is a brand new circuit. The signature feature is La Monumental, a banked corner over 500 metres long with a 24% incline, the longest banked corner on the Formula 1 calendar. Around a third of the lap uses existing roads through the IFEMA Madrid exhibition complex, with the rest purpose-built.

What to expect over three days

Plan for three full days, Friday to Sunday, to see every Formula 1 session and the support races. Friday is practice. Saturday is final practice and qualifying. Sunday is the Grand Prix.

What makes the Spanish Grand Prix special?

The combination of a new circuit, a banked signature corner, and Madrid as a host city. La Monumental is a layout feature unique on the calendar, and the venue at IFEMA is purpose-built for major events. Madrid pairs well with race weekend: one of Europe's great food, bar, and culture capitals, with a short Metro ride from the city centre to the circuit.
