Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes
Istanbul Park returns to the calendar after a long absence, and the grandstand layout for the 2027 race may differ from previous editions. What follows is based on the grandstand structure used during the most recent races at the circuit.
The lap has three main viewing zones worth thinking about. The main straight, where the grid build-up, the start, and the chequered flag take place. Turn 1, a fast opening corner where the field arrives at very high speed before braking downhill into a blind apex. And Turn 8, the long multi-apex left-hander that’s the circuit’s signature feature.
Most overtaking at Istanbul Park happens at Turn 12, where a long straight ends in a heavy braking zone.
Gold (Main Grandstand)
The Gold grandstand runs along the main straight, opposite the pit lane. From here you see the grid build-up, the start, the cars accelerating away from the line, the pit lane in action through the race, and the chequered flag.

Silver 1 (Turn 1)
Located on the outside of the fast opening corner at the end of the pit straight. Cars arrive at very high speed before braking downhill into a left-hander.
Silver 2 and Silver 3 (Turns 3 to 6)
These grandstands cover one of the most undulating sections of the lap, with elevation changes, heavy braking zones, and quick direction changes through Turns 3 to 6.
Silver 4 (Turn 8)
Silver 4 overlooks the exit of Turn 8, the circuit’s signature multi-apex corner. Cars carry very high speed through the corner before the run downhill towards the back of the lap.
Silver 5 and Silver 6 (Turns 9 and 10)
These grandstands cover the braking zone and exit of the technical chicane at Turns 9 and 10, approached at high speed downhill.
Silver 7 and Silver 8 (final sector)
Silver 7 and Silver 8 cover the final technical corners of the lap, with views back towards the main straight from different angles.
