Estimated Reading Time: 4-5 minutes
Istanbul Park is around 50 km southeast of central Istanbul, on the Asian side of the city. The journey from central Istanbul takes around an hour in normal traffic, longer on race weekend. Public transport is workable but not direct.
Public transport
The most common public transport route to the circuit involves two stages. First, take the Marmaray rail line or the M4 metro to Pendik station. From Pendik, the 132D bus runs towards the circuit. Alternatively, the 133GP bus has historically been used during race weekend to run direct to the Istanbul Park stop.
For the 2027 race and beyond, the IETT (Istanbul’s public transport authority) is expected to organise additional direct bus services from key points in the city to the circuit. Worth checking the official event website closer to race weekend.
If you’re staying on the Asian side, particularly in Kadıköy, the public transport route is significantly shorter than from the European side.
Taxi and pre-booked transfer
Taxis can be booked through your hotel or via apps such as BiTaksi. Pre-booked private transfers are also available for race weekend.
The journey from central Istanbul takes around an hour in normal traffic. Allow longer on race days, particularly Sunday.
Driving and parking
If you’re driving, the circuit is accessed via the O-4 (TEM) motorway. From the European side, you’ll cross the Bosphorus via one of the bridges (the 15 July Martyrs Bridge, the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, or the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge) or the Eurasia Tunnel before joining the motorway.
Parking is available at the circuit. Information on availability and booking will be confirmed closer to race weekend.
Walking
Walking distances inside the circuit between the entrance, grandstands, and fan zones can be substantial. Shuttle buses have historically operated around the circuit during race weekend.
