Race-weekend shuttle
The most common way to reach the circuit each day is the free shuttle bus. On race weekend it runs to and from two towns, Portimão and Lagos, for ticket holders. Park-and-ride areas at each end are free but limited, so arriving early helps.
The shuttles start in the early morning and return to the towns after each day’s running. Some years add a third pickup point. Exact locations and times are published on the official event site closer to the weekend.
Driving and parking
The circuit is off the A22 motorway, inland from Portimão. Allow extra time and arrive early.
Taxis and private transfers
Taxis and pre-booked private transfers run from the resort towns to the circuit, a drive of around twenty to thirty minutes from Portimão or Lagos in normal traffic. Allow longer on race days.

Hotels
ZenHotels is one of my go-to sites for hotel bookings. It pulls prices from many smaller sites you might not know about, which makes it good for finding deals. I also check Expedia and Booking.com when I want more options.
Excursions
Viator is full of walking tours, attraction tickets, and local experiences. It’s especially handy if you’re heading to a new Grand Prix city. It’s a good place to find extras to add to your trip.
Money-saving tip
Use the free shuttle and park-and-ride.
Driving to the circuit means parking charges and slow queues to leave. The free shuttle from Portimão or Lagos avoids both, and the park-and-ride at each end costs nothing. Get there early, as the free parking at the departure points is limited.
FAQ's
